We are excited to announce our Redmond City Hall & Civic Center project won the 2018 DeMuro Award for excellence in preservation, reuse, and community revitalization from Restore Oregon. Their mission is to pass forward the historic places that make communities livable and sustainable. The DeMuro Award honors extraordinary historic rehabilitation across Oregon.
Originally constructed in 1922, the building was transformed from a vacant school into a community-centered City Hall. Froelich provided structural engineering, including the plan for seismic improvement on the adaptive reuse of the unreinforced masonry (URM) exterior and cast concrete structure and site.
This is the second time Froelich Engineers’ project has received a DeMuro Award, the first being for the Erickson Fritz Apartments.
Thanks to the entire project team—FFA Architecture, the City of Redmond, Skanska USA, and PAE Consulting Engineers.
