About Us

Our History

Tim Froelich started his company in 1983 at the height of a recession. Among his first assets were a phone book, a drafting table in the dining room, and an abiding faith.

Within a year, he moved out of the house and into a 150-square-foot office and hired his first employee, Dean Azimi, not long after. Since then, Froelich Engineers has been blessed to grow both in numbers and in their relationships with clients. With a passion for creative work and collaborating with great people, Tim has seen the company grow to take on multifamily residential projects, schools, recreational facilities, healthcare complexes and many others, including projects with over $100 million in value.

From its humble beginning, Froelich has become a leading engineering firm in the Western United States, expanding to two offices in Oregon and one in Colorado. We take great pride in bringing our client’s ideas to reality, transforming each project from raw clay to living sculpture, and providing each client with the utmost expertise in civil and structural engineering.

Our Mission

Our mission is to bring an innovative, comprehensive partnership to the engineering design experience. Whether the project is large or small, we achieve and maintain a trusted and valued role among our clients by providing quality services and personal respect.

We believe that an engineer’s contribution to the building industry is to deliver solutions that come from a place of deep integrity and creativity. We always strive to offer solutions that present the best fit for our client’s unique needs.

Our Team

At Froelich Engineers, we believe in the golden rule and know that treating people well reaps far greater reward than the effort required. We conduct our affairs with integrity and respect for all involved in our projects, both inside and outside our doors. Froelich Engineers prides itself on a grow-from-within approach to staff development. This management style means that a number of our senior engineers began their careers with us. Our partners practice an open door policy that encourages transparency and the free exchange of ideas across our staff. We also keep it fun—from ping pong in the break room to events outside the office.
