Sherwood Elementary and Middle Schools
Sherwood, Oregon
A four building, 167,000 square foot new school facility. Classroom buildings incorporate a clerestory above the hallways for
lighting. The structure includes classrooms, media centers, commons areas, cafeteria/auditoriums, gymnasiums, and covered
play areas. The buildings were constructed with steel framing, composite concrete and metal deck for the second floors,
and masonry walls. The gymnasiums and cafeterias are laterally supported by masonry shear walls while the classrooms are
laterally supported by braced frames. This project was completed in the summer of 2009.
